The only funnel builder I recommend is ClickFunnels 2.0, for a few reasons.
It's affordable, easy to use, a complete product and they have a helpful customer team. I can't say the same for the other funnel builders I've tested on this website anymore.

Kartra vs Instapage, which is better? In this article, we will be comparing both of them head to head to see which is best for your online business.
I’m going to give you a full breakdown of the features, ease of use, pricing, and everything else you need to know about the two platforms.
With that being said, let’s jump into the full comparison!
Here's what we'll cover...
About Kartra
Kartra is an all-in-one marketing automation & website builder platform created by Genesis Digital.
The company Genesis Digital was founded in 2013 and has also developed other platforms used by online businesses such as WebinarJam or EverWebinar.
Kartra didn’t launch until 2018 and has since become very popular with the internet marketing community.
The main reason it has become so popular is that it has a huge list of features that help you build a powerful marketing system for your business. But we’ll cover those in a little more detail later on…
About Instapage
Instapage was founded one year before Genesis Digital in 2012. Therefore, it’s been around much longer than Kartra.
However, unlike Kartra, it takes a different focus, as it only tries to provide its users with the best possible landing page builder instead of an all-in-one system.
Since it was founded, Instapage has become very popular with businesses of all sizes. Even various globally-recognized brands like Soundcloud, eBay, Vimeo, or Honey have used the platform.
Which Has The Better Features?
Now that we have looked at some basic information about Instapage and Kartra let’s dive into the features.
Kartra Features
Kartra has a huge list of features that will help you generate more sales and leads.
Below, I’ve broken down all the main features that are inside the platforms.
Kartra Pages, Templates & Checkouts
One of the core features that Kartra is known for is its page builder. It comes with a range of templates to select and edit using its drag & drop builder.
There are templates for almost any page, ranging from squeeze pages and webinar registration to full-navigation websites.
Additionally, Kartra also lets you create powerful checkouts with one-click upsells, downsells, and order bumps. These features are great to help you make the most out of every sale.
Kartra Mail & Forms
Kartra also comes with a complete autoresponder built-in.
This feature is comparable to a dedicated autoresponder like ActiveCampaign, as it has everything a normal autoresponder would have. You can send newsletters, build automation sequences, and it comes with a wide range of beautiful templates.
I liked most about the automation sequences, as it gives you so many options for triggers.
Kartra Memberships & Video Hosting
The next feature is a membership site builder, which is useful if you’re looking to create courses. This can replace something like Teachable, as you won’t need to get an external software piece for this purpose.
It does everything a normal membership site builder would do, like having multiple access levels, drip-feed content, the ability to use your own branding, etc.
Kartra Funnels & Campaigns
Next up, we have Kartra Funnels & Campaigns. In my opinion, this is the coolest and most unique feature inside Kartra.
If you have ever used ClickFunnels, you may be aware of their share funnel feature. Kartra has done the same here, but you can also share all your other assets within Kartra, such as your email campaigns, membership sites, or even your helpdesks.
This is great because you can work with other Kartra users to boost your businesses. Additionally, it also opens up more potential revenue streams, as you can sell campaigns.
Plus, Kartra also comes with pre-built funnels and campaigns by world-class marketers like Frank Kern. They are completely ready to use and even have pre-made copy where you have to
When you sign up for Kartra, you’ll have access to all of these and can use them for your business.
Kartra Affiliate + Marketplace
Out of all of the “all-in-one” platforms out there, Kartra has the best affiliate management feature.
It comes with so much customization for your affiliate program and even lets you create cost-per-action (CPA) programs. For example, you can choose to pay affiliates when they send visitors that enter their email instead of sales.
Here are some of the other things that Kartra affiliate offers:
- Subscribe and tag your affiliates
- Custom payment milestones
- Open and closed affiliate programs
- Paypal Adaptive Payments
- Several commission tiers (For example tier 2: pay affiliates for referring more affiliates)
- Set commissions globally or product by product
Kartra Analytics
Another Kartra feature that I like a lot is its Analytics.
I like them because they are very visual and show you some great insights into your marketing campaigns. For example, it shows you the ROI of a funnel/campaign or your average lead value, which helps run your campaigns.
It also has these comprehensive analytics for every feature inside of the platform.
Kartra Helpdesks
Kartra also comes with a built-in helpdesk tool that you can connect to all your Kartra sites. This allows you to provide support to your customers and makes it easier for them to contact you. Again, this is great, as you won’t need to pay for an external tool.
Kartra Calendar
Last but not least, Kartra has a calendar feature. This will be beneficial for those of you that offer coaching, consultations, or other meetings. It’s a built-in calendar so that you can compare it to Calendly.
Note: Everything inside of Kartra can be split-tested too.
Instapage features
As we have seen above, Kartra has a huge list of features. Let’s look at how Instapage’s features compare.
Landing Page Builder, Templates & Experimentation
Obviously, Instapage’s core feature is its landing page builder & templates.
The drag & drop builder is very smooth and easy to use, although it’s slightly different from the ones you might be used to. However, after overcoming the learning curve, there isn’t really anything to complain about it.
Instapage’s templates are clean and professional and are perfect for any landing page. They also have a fair bit of variety in terms of style but won’t let you build as many types of websites as Kartra.
One area where Instapage beats Kartra is page speed, as that’s an area on which Instapage prides itself.
Just like Kartra, you can also split-test the pages you create in Instapage.
Personalization
Instapage also has a feature called personalization, which helps you adapt your pages to your visitor’s interests and behavior. Kartra has something similar called behavior-adaptive-marketing, but Instapage’s feature is a bit more advanced.
AdMap
Instapage’s admap lets you visualize your advertising campaigns, which can make planning them easier. Plus, it also lets you evaluate your customer journey’s post-click stage, which will help you run more effective campaigns.
Advantage: Kartra – Instapage has some pretty cool landing page features, but Kartra has most of them plus a huge list of others.
How Much Does Each Cost?
Now that we have taken a look at what Kartra and Instapage have to offer let’s look at the costs they come at.
Kartra Pricing
Kartra has four pricing plans available at the moment:
- Starter: $99 per month
- Silver: $199 per month
- Gold: $299 per month
- Platinum: $499 per month
Interestingly, you get almost all features on every plan, with the one exception being Kartra agency on the starter plan. Apart from that, the only difference between the plans is the resources, which is pretty cool, as you will be sure to get the features you’re after.
Check out the full pricing table below. There is also a custom enterprise plan available which you can get more info on by contacting their support.
For beginners, the Starter plan at $99/month is more than enough to get started. The main reason you’d want to upgrade is due to limitations!
Instapage Pricing
Instapage only actually has two pricing plans, one of which is the custom enterprise plan. The other is the “optimizing” plan which costs $199 per month ($149 if paid annual), which gives you the basics of what Instapage has to offer.
Annoyingly, you miss out on some of the best Instapage features. Take a look at the pricing table below to see what I mean.
It also has a limit of 30k visitors per month, and you can only create 30 landing pages.
I can’t actually tell you too much about the custom plan, as I don’t have it. However, I do find it a little annoying that there are only two options.
Advantage: Kartra. The starter plan does more than Instapage’s $199 per month plan. Plus, Kartra has a lot more options to suit a wider range of businesses.
Everything Else You Need To Know About Kartra & Instapage
Here’s everything else you need to know about Kartra and Instapage.
Which is easier to use?
It depends. Both can be slightly overwhelming when you first start, especially Kartra, since the list of features is so big.
However, they are both straightforward to use in general, as they have great drag & drop features. But Kartra does have the occasional lag, so overall it’s a very slight advantage for Instapage.
Advantage: Instapage
Which has better support?
This is another point that goes to Instapage; as Kartra is a fairly new software, it doesn’t yet have the best support. Don’t get me wrong, Kartra’s support team is brilliant because they know the platform well. However, there is no live chat.
Instapage, on the other hand, does have live chat support, so this point goes to them.
Advantage: Instapage
Which has the better integrations?
Instapage has more integrations, but this is also because Kartra has way more features built-in. For every function that Kartra has a built-in feature for, Instapage will need an integration, so, naturally, Instapage has more integrations. Plus, the Instapage is also older.
Nevertheless, Instapage does have more integrations, so it has the advantage.
Advantage: Instapage
Which has better templates?
This one, I’m going to give to Kartra. They both have brilliant landing page templates with a decent variety of styles. However, Kartra also has templates for full-navigation websites, membership sites, and pretty much anything you can think of.
Therefore, it has a much larger selection of templates than Instapage, which is why Kartra deserves this point.
Advantage: Kartra
Which has the better page builder?
Both page builders are great and have a rich selection of elements (widgets) that you can use. However, I like Kartra’s page builder more because of all the other features that come with Kartra. It’s way easier to add forms, connect helpdesks, connect to your email sequences, and it’s all in much better sync.
Additionally, Kartra lets you embed your pages into any other website using the HTML/Java code. Your pages with Instapage are just stuck inside of Instapage.
So, while they both have a great page builder, it’s the extras that Kartra offers, which makes its page builder more effective.
Advantage: Kartra
My final thoughts
As you have seen throughout this article, both Kartra and Instapage are solid platforms.
While Instapage focuses on providing a dedicated landing page builder, Kartra offers an all-in-one platform.
Which one is better for you depends on your business’s needs. However, overall, I would give the call to Kartra as the benefits of the features outweigh what Instapage has to offer. However, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the right choice for you.
Below, I’ve explained why you should choose Kartra or Instapage, based on your business’s needs.
Why you should choose Kartra
Kartra is one of the best marketing automation platforms out there. It comes with everything you need to build a complete marketing system for your business.
If you learn how to use the tools that Kartra provides you with properly, you will generate more leads and sales. Plus, Kartra does all this for a lot lower cost than buying all the features separately, so you’re saving money as well.
The tools inside of Kartra are also especially suited for service businesses and info-product vendors.
Why you should choose Instapage
Despite Kartra having a lot more features than Instapage, Instapage can still be a great option. This is shown by some of the companies that use it, which we discussed earlier.
Based on the sizes of those companies, I’d assume it’s very suited for Enterprise businesses.
The tools inside, like personalization, will also have a much bigger impact if you’re getting huge amounts of traffic. For example, a 1% conversion rate increase is huge if you’re getting thousands of conversions, so then InstaPage’s tools are more than worth it.
If you are looking for an Enterprise solution, I think Instapage can be a great option.
